I am in the process of reading One Child: The Story of China’s Most Radical Experiment by Mei Fong, and Stuff You Should Know: An Incomplete Compendium of Mostly Interesting Things by Josh Clark and Chuck Bryant (with Nils Parker). I also finished Dune just after Christmas.

This is kind of a big deal for me, because it has been years since I was a regular reader of books that I had not read before. (Looking over the course of my life, that is itself a big deal for me, who literally tacked on extra pages to the charts where you were to list your summer reading.) It is also a big deal because these are non-fiction books, and I don’t know if I fully finished more than a half-dozen non-fiction books before I turned 25. My hypothesis is that I have so much languishing brain power now that I am able to bring it to bear on concurrently thinking and reading for entertainment.

Currently unemployed, so I have too much time for thinking. Newly engaged, so I have quite a few things to think about.
